The pattern includes a “Choosing a size” section to make sure you get the happiest fit.
Gauge: 14 sts and 18 rounds to 4”/10 cm in stockinette stitch
Yarn: Bulky-weight yarn, approximately 550 (625, 675, 725)(800, 900, 975)(1050, 1150, 1200) yards/500 (575, 625, 675)(750, 830, 900)(965, 1055, 1100) meters.
The yarn used for the sample is Wonderfluff, a “blown” yarn of 70% baby alpaca/23% nylon/7% merino wool, in color “Ripple Heather.” Similar yarns include Plymouth Yarn Aireado, Estelle Alpaca Drift, Wool and the Gang Feeling Good, Juniper Moon Farm Beatrix, Lana Grossa Alpaca Moda, Hobbii Divina, Lang Cloud, Schulana Lanalpaco, and Ice Yarns Baby Alpaca Air. See Yarnsub for a longer list of similar yarns. Test knitters using wool, wool blends, and cotton blends got good results as well.
Other fluffy bulky-weight yarns would work well with this pattern, too. The simple profile means that it can also be a good canvas for textured yarns like bouclé and speckled or variegated yarns that have lots of colors or high contrast.
