Yarn: Fingering/sock yarn in three colors: approximately 35 grams/165 yards/150 meters color 1 (C1), 45 grams/210 yards/190 meters C2, and approximately 55 grams/255 yards/235 meters C3 for standard size. There are options for increasing the size of the shawl, in which case you will need a total of approximately 70 grams/325 yards/295 meters C1, 90 grams/420 yards/380 meters C2,and (unchanged) 55 grams/255 yards/235 meters C3.
The sample was worked Bad Sheep Yarn Basic Sock Fingering, a 75% wool/25% nylon yarn with 462 yards/422 meters per 100grams, in colors Sand Dollar (C1), Sea Glass (C2), and Amy (C3). Kits are available from Bad Sheep Yarn. Other wool and wool-blend yarns of similar weight would also work.
